FAQ

To start, I'll post one question that my husband asked me about my blog, and it's probably a question that I would ask myself if I was a new reader. There's a hint to it on my main page, but here's the full Q and A:

Why is your blog titled the Blue Hour? What does that have to do with fashion or any other topic you write about?
I picked the Blue Hour for a very specific reason. Ever since I read this quote: "It was dawn, what Sylvia Plath called "the blue hour," a time before the city stirs, before silence drowns in the din of daily business." - I was in love with the idea. To me, the Blue Hour is a time of silent reflection, a time when the world stops and  is at its most silent and most beautiful. To me, it's a time of introspection, a time of remembrance, a time of quiet and meditation, a time for just you. And that's what my blog is to me - a place for introspection, a place to share my passions (fashion included), a place to remember my life, to be quiet and meditative as I write. It's a place to be still amid the busy, busy, busy that is today's life. I've often felt the dawn is one my favorite times - there is nothing like putting in a few miles on the pavement as the sky begins to lighten, or to enjoy what literally is a blue hour on the back porch with a cup of coffee. It's so very hard to put into words what this time of day makes me feel, but hopefully I've articulated why I felt it was a great title for my blog!
