[Fashion] Not Over

Ok lovely readers - I need some help. I was curious about the "mullet" hem dress or "hi-lo" or whatever you call it, so I tried one on a few months back. I just loved the way that it looked so I went ahead and bought it. Trouble is, I can't really figure out where I can wear it. I can't decide if it's too formal for everyday wear, nor can I decide the perfect place to break out the dress. This is where I need your help. Where would you wear this?

[Fashion] This Is Great Advice

I just discovered Hilary Rushford and her blog. (Yeesh, you can tell I'm new to the style blogger world). I just love this video - I think it's fantastic advice!!!

[Life] Squee!!!

Today, my parents arrive for a Mother's Day weekend visit!!! My parents have been married for 36 years and are the best role models I could have had growing up. They live in the same house in a small PA town that we moved into when I was 4 years old and now that I'm in Atlanta, I don't get to see them nearly enough. But this weekend they'll be here! Last year they did the same and we had an absolute blast together. I hope this one is even better!!!

I love them so much!!

[Link Up] 7 Questions

Joining in Gentri Lee's 7 Questions again!

1. You just invented the next big thing! What is it called and what does it do?
It's called Father Time and it gives you more hours in a day.

2. Are you a lover or a fighter?
A lover, unless I've been drinking or you've really insulted/hurt/attacked someone I love. Then I kind of black out and become quite the fighter.

3. It's almost mothers day- if you could tell your mom anything, what would it be?
Mom, our relationship is so important to me and I wish we could spend more time together. I love you and appreciate you!

4. Do you like your hair curly, wavy, or straight?
Straight, even though it's naturally somewhere between wavy and curly.

5. If it was your last day to live, what would you do?
I would gather up everyone I love and spend the day just enjoying their company, preferably near the ocean.

6. What color are your eyes? Do you like the color?
I say they're blue but my hubby says they're green. I like the color but wish it was a bit brighter. I think in some lights they are actually a bit dull!

7. Fish, beef, poultry, wild game, or tofu?
I'd love to say fish but there's a bunch of fish I don't really love, so I guess I'll say poultry. I could seriously eat chicken every single day.

[Fashion] Zee Deveel

I've really been loving the sheer, flowy tops that are everywhere now. So many of you fabulous fashion bloggers have been wearing them and really inspiring me! I'm also loving this half-tucked, half-untucked thing. Seems to work well for my oddly high hips.

Top - INC at Macy's
Jeans - Hydraulic
Shoes - Target
Bracelet - Boutique in Alpine Helen, GA (seriously, look that place up, you non-GA dwellers)

What do you think of the minty green/black/grey/white combo? I loved it!!! I'm obsessed with mint right now but can't seem to find a lot of mint pieces that work for me. Maybe it's my uber pale skin. I think this mint works well because it's a brighter mint. For whatever reason INC seems to come up with just the best color combinations! What are your favorite color combos?

(I finally got to wear my coveted Target wedges!!!)

And I couldn't sign off without another Lexi photobomb...haha.

This tends to be her favorite side to show the camera. Happy Hump (or should I say Lexi-Rump?) Day!

[Shopping] Gingham

Hey! Are you looking for the perfect gingham shirt on the cheap?? I was!

I found this little gem at a place I would normally never, ever, ever set foot in. It almost makes me shudder typing it. Aeropostale. This is definitely a place I leave to the middle school/high school crowd, but I have been looking for the perfect gingham shirt without having to spend as much as the gorgeous ones from J Crew would run me. So, for those like me - here you are, in 4 colors.

Thanks to Jill at Good Life For Less for this tip off! This is also out there for the month of May to make that shirt even cheaper.

For those who have a slightly bigger budget than I do....

Perfect shirt in mini-gingham

Happy shopping!

[Fashion] Beverly Hills

I really like black and white together, and I find that a little pop of color can really bring together a black and white outfit. For work, I put together this black and white outfit and tried a pop of color with the shoes.

Top - New York and Company
Capris - Express (last year)
Shoes - ??
I bought these shoes to go with a dressy red dress a couple of years back and they never get much wear. I decided to try them and see if they would work.

What do you think of these shoes? Too dressy for the outfit? I never really get to wear them so I've been debating getting rid of them if I can't wear them with everyday styles. I really liked the look from the front, but not from the side. They almost look too big? What do you think?

Would you wear these?

[Shopping] I Need an Opinion or 10

For as much as I love dresses, I don't have many party dresses. Maybe because I don't go out "partying" too often. But whenever I do, I'm always scrambling to find something fun and cute to wear.

I found this dress at Kohl's a few months ago. I tried it on, didn't love it, and didn't buy it. Last week, I tried it on again, couldn't decide, so I again didn't buy it. I went back to Koh'ls this past weekend to use my Kohl's cash and my eyes went back to this dress. It was the only one left in my size. I kept feeling like there was just something I didn't love about it, but that something could be shoes or maybe the right hairstyle or accessories. So I took a few pictures and still was iffy about it.

Well, I bought the dress. I just love the pink and black, and I'm obsessed with the one-shoulder style and lace. (Remember when I tried on something similar?) The intent is to try it on at home with some heels and maybe with my hair down or something and see what I think. If I can't make it work, I'm taking it back. It may just be that I'm not nuts about where it cuts with the belt. It may be that my chest is just too big for this style/cut. What do you think? Do you like it? Do you have any suggestions on what I might be able to add that would make it work?
