[Fashion] Come Back Home to California

Lately I've been seeing some posts about hanging onto old clothes. I am so, so guilty of this!!!

The jeans I'm wearing here are 11 years old - ELEVEN!!!! I bought them my junior year of college at a place called the Pittsburgh Jean Company.

I had a sorority sister who worked there, and it's one of those boutique-y jean places, where they only carry the designer and high end brands. (Read: EXPENSIVE for a college kid!!).

However, the first time I went there, I fell in love with these jeans. 11 years later, they still fit. I wore them on my second date with my husband and they have a hole in the knee from when I tripped and fell on our way to the car after dinner.

But I still feel awesome in them. And they're Juicy Couture jeans, which I've seen to be high quality, as I still have them. And they still fit me like a glove.

Do you have any clothes you've hung on to??

  1. I'm totally impressed that you can fit into your jeans from 11 years ago. Unfortunately, I cannot. I do have some shirts from college though and that was 12 (OMG...12 really??) years ago. Ok, I feel old now.

  2. Girl, they still look brand new! Definitely worth the money 11 years ago! Too funny about tripping on your second date! Sorry, I had to laugh! ;)

  3. That's awesome that they've lasted for SO long! I usually wear my fav jeans to death until they start getting holes and I have to say goodbye to them. I don't think I've had any pairs last as long as yours!

  6. Bumped into your blog! And like you I keep onto things for a while, especially my purses, shoes, and jewelry. Love that jeans come in and out of style so you've gotta keep them. . .

  7. I don't think you should feel guilty about having these jeans for eleven years, because they look great on you and they're such a classic shape! That shirt is fantastic, too. :)

    1. Thanks, Mara! I'm loving blues and greens together right now, it just drew me to this top. And I agree, the jeans ARE a classic shape!

  8. 11 years with a pair of jeans?! That's impressive! I used to hold on to clothes for forever, but I've moved so much lately that it's forced me to get rid of clothes I don't wear. Back to the jeans... I'm crazy jealous that you have the ability to hold on to things for this long! Maybe someday I'll be able to too :)

    1. I'm actually shocked that after all the moves we've been through my hubby hasn't made me get rid of more stuff. I'm AWFUL about hanging onto things, so while it's good in the case of these jeans, it isn't always!!!

  11. It's so nice that you can fit your older items with many memories. I only have a few apparel items that I've held on to for decades, but mostly vintage jewellery or accessories from my family.
