[OOTD] So Tired I Didn't Try It

Sorry, guys, but no Try It Tuesday for me today. I have been so busy I haven't been able to do any pins! I haven't even been able to catch up on my blog reading (guys, my rss reader is backed up from last Tuesday). However, I wouldn't want to let down anyone who happened to do a pin post for today, so the linkup is still at the bottom!!

Top: INC via Macy's | Jeans: Target | Shoes: Payless

I wasn't entirely sure when I bought this if it was a dress or a top - it's short so I'm going with tunic. I really loved the lace overlay.

[OOTD] Randoms

I'm tired and don't feel like doing much work, so you're going to get a smattering of outfits I pulled off my phone.

You're also going to get a discount code for Kohl's.

Aren't you so lucky!?!

First - the Kohl's discount. Use the code TENBLOG for 10% off any Kohl's purchase between now and DECEMBER 23 (great for holiday shopping!)!!! This is a stackable code and can be used in conjunction with one other Kohl's promotional code. Enjoy!

Now, the outfits...

Top: Old Navy | Jeans: Union Bay via ? | Shoes: Shoe Carnival | Necklace: New York & Company

Pay no mind to the towel on my head in the next 3 pictures. It was in the morning and I was trying to decide between these three tops!

Top: New York & Company | Jeans: Forever 21 | Heels: Candies via Kohl's (other options from Kohl's here)

Top: Old Navy

Top: Old Navy
Top: Webster via Target | Jeans: ? bought in Korea | Flip flops: Old Navy

These next two I was trying to decide on scarf or no scarf:

Tank: Old Navy | Jeans: Target | Wedges: Christian Siriano for Payless | Cardigan: Gap

Scarf: Target

Top: Kohl's (other options from Kohl's here) | Jeans: Forever 21 | Flip Flops: Old Navy

Sorry about the few bathroom-mirror-at-work shots. These happen when I want to document an outfit but don't think I'm going to get a chance to do so with my real camera, haha!

Top: Express | Cardigan: Target | Pants: Victoria's Secret | Necklace: Ebay

This outfit actually appeared in an outfit post here.

There are still a bunch of these hanging around on my camera....stick around for part 2 tomorrow!!!

[OOTD] To Keep or Not To Keep

I'm going to have to ask you to excuse my crazy a$$ hair in these pics. I had some flyaway issues and was in bad need of a dye job, obviously.

This is a perfect example of another blog outfit that made me rethink having a piece in my wardrobe. The last time that happened was over here. This one is a similar case - this top does nothing for my large chest. Matter of fact (or fat as I accidentally typed - lol - Freudian slip??), this cut in the neckline draws attention to my chest, and makes it look wider by almost expanding the appearance of that area!

Tank: Old Navy | Top: Express | Jeans: Mudd | Shoes: Walmart

These shoes have kind of an interesting story. I was going to a corn maze with some friends, but I had been at a party the rest of the afternoon. In my stupidity, I had dressed for the party but not for the corn maze. The outfit was fine - but I was wearing flip flops. The weather was cool once the sun went down, and we had recently had rain, so those were not going to cut it at the corn maze. I stopped by the only place I could find on the way, which was Walmart, to get something that would keep my toes warm and not-muddy. I thought these were the cutest option - and I still get wear out of them! Great $14 purchase. :)

Have you accidentally made a purchase that turned out to be a big player in your wardrobe?

[OOTD] Oldie But Goodie

This outfit is one of my favorites. Maybe it's the white blazer because my other favorite outfit included this white blazer. Then again, when I got dressed this morning, I was using some Pinterest pins as inspiration (since tomorrow is the Try It Tuesday linkup!!! Reminder!!! oh - and the code/button is in the right sidebar) and the outfit I had pinned that had a white blazer in it just wasn't working for me. So who knows?

(Sorry for the crappy phone pics...the outfit was from a work trip)

Top: Target | Blazer: H&M | Jeans: Miss Me via Macy's (see this post) | Shoes: Shoe Carnival

What item in your wardrobe seems to make an appearance in your favorite outfits??

[Fashion] Wish List Update

I've been making a bit of progress on my wishlist and I'm kind of excited. I'm about halfway there! How is your fall shopping going?

  1. I have not found my smoker flats yet. I tried on those super cute burgundy ones at Target but the 9.5s were too tight and the 10s were too wide and looked ridiculous when my foot wasn't completely flat. I was bummed because I really liked them! Still...onward towards the right pair!
  2. I'm likely going for my boots in a week or two. Excited!
  3. Well. I say this is a "kind of X" - I found a sheer cream colored top but it's a little too sheer - I have to wear a tank underneath and I definitely think it takes away from it a bit. Aside from that it's a perfect match, but I'm keeping my eye out for a less sheer version on sale. It's such a classic blouse that perhaps having 2 is ok? Perhaps? :)
  4. I went back for the Old Navy version of this mint top. Molly talked me into it. Kind of.
  5. This, I think, is my BEST score. I've been kind of keeping my eye out, tried on some burgundy pants but just didn't love them. Then I saw some on the F21 website for $25 and decided to check out the store for them. They didn't have them. After walking around the store and not seeing them, I started to leave. As I was leaving, a peek of burgundy caught my eye - there was a pair of burgundy jeans randomly stuck on a rack they didn't belong on. And they were my size. I went to go try them on but the line was HUGE and I was in a hurry...so I decided, what the heck - they were $15!!!!! I figured if I got them home and they didn't fit I could return for store credit and no doubt could find something to spend $15 on. I got them home and they fit perfectly. I'm so excited about these pants!!!
  6. Ya'll already knew that I got this top - still haven't purchased the scarf, though I still might! I'm also kind of loving the mustard cardigans. If a cheap one comes along....
  7. I got these shoes but got them in the black and white cloth instead of the plaid. Just thought they were more unique.
  8. Still no polka dot blouse yet, though I've tried on a number.
  9. No box clutch, though I am in LOVE with the pink and black lace one from Kirna Zebete's Target collection. However, I'm a bit hesitant to bite the bullet...my local store had the BLACK one and the faux fur animal print one on sale for $11, but the pink and lace remained $35. I think I'm going to hold out for a bit and see if I can grab one if it ever goes on sale...but I love it so much I just might end up going full price in case they sell out.
  10. No green heels yet
  11. No red bag yet, though I've found a few that weren't quite right.
  12. Grey Gap tee was in my last update.

Overall, I'm pretty proud of myself! And I've only purchased a few things not on my list - a pair of hunter green skinnies on sale at Target, a thrifted red blazer (love!! I'm so proud cause I suck at thrifting), and I feel like I bought something else but can't think of it right now. Oh well.

What is your best fall purchase so far?

[Fashion] How Great a Stylist Are YOU?

Real Simple has a fun game posted today - they put together a number of outfits and asked professional stylists what they would add to an outfit to finish it. Then we, the readers, can play along and guess which item of 4 a stylist picked for each outfit.

I was pleasantly surprised that I got more than half on the first or second guess. The ones I missed were ones where the stylists surprised me and went with something that was a bit more matchy-matchy than my tastes.

So....

How did you do?

[Fashion] Fall Wishlist/Weekend Shopping

One last reminder...my giveaway ends tonight at midnight!!

I got to do a little bit of shopping this past weekend and just wanted to do a quick update:

(remember last week's list?)

#4. I tried on the mint shirt at Target. It was too tight in the chest in a medium and too big in the waist as a large. I also tried on a similar mint shirt at Old Navy and just didn't love it. I'm questioning keeping this one on my list because so far I haven't really loved one I've tried on.

Mint shirt at Target - entirely too tight in the chest - I couldn't comfortably move my arms.

Mint shirt at Old Navy - I'm not sure how I feel about this one - I didn't love it at the time but looking at the pic in real size it doesn't look half bad...what do you think?

#6. Bought this at Old Navy this weekend. It was $30 and I had a 20% off coupon, so got it for $24. It was the last medium at the second store, and the first store I went to didn't have it any more. Still thinking about getting the ModCloth scarf, too. :)

#12. Found a great grey shirt on sale at the Gap for $9!! So I could cross that one off the list.

Making some progress.... still can't find that cream shirt, and I really want to scoop up the polka dots and burgundy pants next!!
