[Life] Memorial Day

I hope everyone had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend! I certainly did. It was so much fun to spend time in Savannah with friends.

We arrived on Saturday afternoon and after checking into our hotel, went to meet our friends Katie and Stephan on the beach at Tybee Island.

We spent a relaxing afternoon jumping waves and playing ladderball.

On Saturday night, we had a fantastic dinner at Sakura Downtown and then went on a bar crawl through Savannah hitting favorites like Circa, Molly Macpherson's, Murphy's Law, and Social.

It was a long night. We had a lot of fun.

Too much fun, eh, Stephan?

Sunday we got up and had brunch with K + S at Clary's. Perfectly greasy and just what we needed! For the afternoon, hubs and I headed down to River Street, where we had ice cream and fruity frozen drinks.

We sat on a ledge in the walking area of River Street and listened to a steel drum band while we enjoyed our beverages.

(This full length pic is the closest I got to an outfit shot the entire weekend)
After meeting up with some friends, we took the ferry across the river.

We had a pitstop at the lounge in the Westin and then hit up the rooftop bar back on River St at the Bohemian Hotel.

We ended up at Churchill's for dinner (mmm fish & chips!) and ended up holing up there for the night. You may or may not be able to tell from the pictures, but it was uber windy. The clouds had looked menacing every now and again, and tropical storm Beryl was heading up the coast. They had called for rain all day Sunday so we were lucky we got away unscathed...until about 10pm when it came down in sheets. That's why we holed up at Churchill's. No one wanted to walk home in that mess.

All in all, a wonderful weekend!

  3. I'm not just saying this.. but this looks like the perfect memorial day. seeing how mine had snow involved... but even if I had been somewhere super sunny, this looks superb. I think I could hang with you and your friends very easily :)

    1. Aww, thanks! It was a great Memorial Day. Although, being a displaced northerner I definitely miss the snow. Sometimes holing up in a cabin while it's chilly outside and being around a toasty fire is perfect, too! Plus, I have a ton of cute winter clothes I never get to wear any more, haha. If you ever get the chance, Savannah is a wonderful place to visit, I would certainly recommend it.
